NURSE

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program.
  • Minimum two years of experience caring for the geriatric population in an Assisted Living/ Memory Care or long term care setting as an LPN/RN. Preferred experience in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
  • Must also meet state requirements for relevant licensure or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license.
  • Must complete initial Alzheimer’s/Dementia training during orientation, and ongoing monthly training.
  • Must pass the Criminal History Record Check as outlined by the MSDH.
  • Must pass a drug screen.
  • Must meet the MSDH medical and TB requirements.
  • Must provide professional care to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility protocols, and written plans of care.
  • Must treat all residents with dignity and respect.  Promote and protect all residents’ rights.  Provide care with a sincere positive attitude and with a smile.
  • Establish a culture of compliance by adhering to all Lighthouse policies and procedures.
  • Administration and supervision of all medications.
  • Complete thorough and accurate initial nursing assessment.  Complete follow-up assessments monthly and as needed.
  • Oversee all care provided by Care Partners and Life Coaches.
  • Confer with the Care Plan Team in the development of the comprehensive care plan.
  • Communicate with resident, physicians and resident’s responsible party regarding changes in residents status, abnormal findings, falls or injuries.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must have strong listening skills and ability to deal with conflict with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Most importantly applicants must be honest, trustworthy and sincerely love caring for others, and consider it a pleasure serving the elder population.

CARE PARTNER

Care Partners are responsible for providing professional, compassionate, and quality care for Assisted Living residents.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a team player, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit and maintaining a harmonious work environment.
  • Welcomes new residents with true Southern hospitality, ensuring they feel safe and secure in their new home.
  • Eager to take the time to get to know each resident on a personal level so that care is truly individualized.
  • Must be patient, friendly and sincere.  Be courteous, tactful and use good judgment in working with residents, family members, guests and other staff members
  • Perform various resident care activities and related non-skilled services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of residents at the Lighthouse.
  • Encourage residents in activities of daily living.   Be supportive, assisting but always promoting independence.
  • Foster resident’s self- respect and self-esteem by recognizing, accepting those entrusted to his/her care.
  •  Assist residents with personal hygiene as directed.   Assist with daily care of residents by performing such as bathing, dressing in appropriate seasonal attire, grooming, shaving, combing hair, putting on shoes and other care needs to ensure dignity of each person.
  •  Observe the physical and mental conditions of residents and report all changes to the Charge Nurse.
  •  Make beds and perform housekeeping in residents’ rooms.
  •  Remove soiled towels and linens from rooms.
  • Assist with keeping common areas clean, neat, tidy and well organized.
  •  Make resident rounds with previous shift and at least every two hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Shifts will be 12 hours, you must be able to work weekends and holidays.

LIFE COACH

Life Coaches are responsible for providing professional, compassionate, and quality care for Memory Care residents.  They guide residents with impaired memory through daily tasks, assisting them in managing their lives.  Life Coaches work side-by-side our residents and their family to establish a schedule and routine that preserves independence and promotes the highest level of functioning possible for each resident.  At the Lighthouse our care is truly resident -centered and each care plan outlines the unique goals for each resident.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have an understanding and awareness of the disease process of Alzheimer’s’ and dementia.
  • Must participate in extensive Alzheimer’s training upon hire and monthly.
  • Must provide emotional support, and genuine social engagement.

DIETARY AIDE

Dietary Aide must be capable of preparing food following instructions while adhering to all safety and health standards.  They must be competent and conscientious with customer oriented approach.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served
  • Set-up and tear-down of food service equipment
  • Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils according to proper procedures
  • Monitors and records temperature in refrigerators and freezers
  • Report any issues or problems that may arise to the Dietary Director
  • Complies with state, federal and all other applicable health care and safety standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a dietary aide
  • Further experience in health care facility an asset
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Friendly with good communication skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent:  Certification in foods services a plus

DIETARY SERVER

Greet and serve residents, providing detailed information on menu, multi-tasking various front of the house duties. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Taking residents orders and delivering food and beverages
  • Present menu to residents and provide detailed information when asked about ingredients, portions and potential food allergies
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
  • Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Carry dirty dishes, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Provide excellent service to all residents

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a waiter or waitress
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • High School Diploma a must with food safety training a plus

LAUNDRY/ HOUSEKEEPING AIDE

Laundry aides oversee or operate washing machines for a senior living facility. Laundry workers use different techniques to wash and dry fabrics and materials of various colors, materials and sizes. They also may mark, sort, hang or fold articles before or after washing and drying.

 

Responsibilities

  • Sort all linens and treat stains
  • Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
  • Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
  • Sort and fold or hang clean dried items
  • Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to Director of operations
  • Maintaining all laundry equipment and inform Director of Operations as to any maintenance needs
  • Perform additional laundry services when necessary
